Hi. I’m Brian Rothenberg. Thanks for visiting my website/blog, here’s a bit about me.
I recently moved from San Francisco to New York City to pursue my MBA at the NYU Stern School of Business which I’m enjoying very much so far (except for east coast winters – they’re tough for a California native).
At this point in my career, I’ve had the amazing opportunities of starting two of my own businesses, launching web products that have touched millions of peoples’ lives (while working with some stellar people), and investing in some cool web companies (Sneakerplay and others). In addition to my current MBA studies, I’m an InSITE fellow helping start-ups raise venture capital funding, and a venture capital intern at Canaan Partners. I’m also helping SkillSlate become the best website for people to find individual service providers in their area (I love the local space). In case it’s not apparent, I love everything tech/internet, anything entrepreneurial, and am intensely interested in and learning everything I can about venture capital.
Outside of work and geeky stuff, I like to explore NYC (though San Francisco is still my favorite), travel to new places, exercise, watch football, road bike, listen to music, go to concerts, eat good food / drink good wine, and spend time with friends and family. I created another website with more about me for one of my MBA essays. Despite some self-marketing, it does have a lot more about me (and is probably part of the reason I’m in NYC right now).
